Artist Statement:
I always feel called to create work that stems from a question. If I were to trace my thoughts backward from a finished piece of work, I would end up with “What does it mean to…” or “How can one…” This isn’t necessarily to say that the works strive to answer the question so much as become a manifestation of the question. I guess I’m always trying to get dangerously close to something quintessentially human. Sorrow, glory, happiness, pride, malice, and whatever else is willing to bare its teeth at me.
