Alex Camarre

Alex Camarre is an up-and-coming contemporary furniture designer strongly focused on juxtaposing elegant stone with a variety of contrasting materials. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Camarre’s use of stone throughout his work comes natural given his family has owned and operated Buffalo Granite & Marble, a stone fabrication company that focuses mostly on countertops, for over 30 years. This is where he originally built his foundation for stone, eventually experimenting with furniture and sculptures. Recently he has been working on the launch of his furniture brand Camarre, which aims to compose sleek designs blended with a seductive color palette that breathes an elegant medium.

Camarre’s design language derives from American culture, Hollywood glamor, and avant garde style. He doesn’t shy away from creating pieces with intricate architectural construction that make bold statements. Part of his creative process points back to his deep interest in fashion. To be more specific, Tom Ford, Rick Owens, and Hedi Slimane, are some of the names that he states have heavily influenced his work.

Camarre’s sets out to challenge how stone is utilized in modern design and furniture.
