Joshua Nickerson

Joshua Nickerson was born and raised in Kingston, Rhode Island. He has a BA in Anthropology from the University of Rhode Island and a Masters of Library and Information Science degree from Kent State University. A self-taught artist, Joshua’s only formal arts training consists of a drawing and a print-making class as an undergraduate. He has been exhibiting his work since 2010. Initially starting out as a painter, Joshua switched the focus of his studio practice to large scale works on paper around 2015. His works on paper combine elements of drawing and printmaking techniques.

Joshua has exhibited in solo shows at the Carnegie Art Center, Starlight Studios and Gallery and The Barco Gallery at the University of Pittsburgh. Joshua lives in North Buffalo with his wife and daughter.
